BemerkungenI drive at night for a living and I see shooting stars almost every night. This was different. It was not as fast as a shooting star but it was faster than a plane would be. As it descended it caught fire then the fire stopped but I could still see it descending and glowing which means it was quite big. I followed it all the way down to the tree line and by that point it was still as bright and big as when I first saw it up on the sky. I saw online people reported sights of similar stuff in Scotland but I was northbound on the M40 and it was to my right. It was so close that I expected to hear it crash or see some fire when it crashed but the treeline stopped me from seeing anything. If that was a shooting star, it was the biggest I saw in my life. If it was a burning aircraft falling from the sky then I am sorry for wasting your time. Have a good day.
